Fishing for the beginning of June has been good now that the Carp and most of the Bream and Roach have finally got round to spawning. Some big Carp were spotted with groups of smaller males whilst they have been spawning. The Carp are now starting to respond to bottom baits but a good few have been caught on the top on dog biscuits or bread….just watch out for the ducks!
A few Carp have been caught during the day but morning and late evening is proving the best for catching.
Over the past week four Grass Carp have been landed up to 12 lb plus some smaller ones of 3 to 4 lbs. Its nce to see these small ones showing (and no they are not Chubb as some people think!)
Bream and Roach have been responding to all the usual baits; meat, corn, maggot plus banded pellet on small method feeder. Float and pole tactics are fishing well. Just remember to make sure you plumb your depth before you start.
