FISHING REPORT . APRIL 2014
Hopefully we have now got rid of the cold easterly winds that have been keeping the fish down. Carp are finally on the move and showing signs of getting ready to spawn as long as the temperatures remain on an even keel.
Some nice Roach and Rudd being caught on soft pellet ,sweetcorn and bread the majority of the roach are as fat as puddings with spawn . Pole , waggler and feeder tactics all working at the moment . Bream are getting their heads down over the feed but be very cautious how much feed you put in as you can and will end up with too may fish in your swim leading to line bites and a lot of foul hooked fish, little and often with the feed is the best bet.
A match fished by 14 anglers from Bolton-Le-Sands club on Sunday 20th April was a little slow this was mainly due to a bitterly cold wind blowing down the lake from the east.
First four weight:s
We are now into May and on May bank holiday Monday Salterbeck Angling Club held an impromptu match, 12 anglers fished winning weights were 1st 45-05lbs 2nd 37-00 lbs.’ 3rd 35-00 lbs.
